The Hero Mavrick The 440, which is the result of Hero’s partnership together with Harley Davidson, stands as their top-of-the-line offering. It has the most capability of all Hero motorcycle, as well as the best numbers of performance so far. With its motor sharing together with Harley Davidson X440, we were curious to see how it performed during our test. This is what we found.

We then headed for Mumbai to ride the Mavrick 440 in mixed traffic and weather conditions over 50 km. After our ride we found that the Mavrick 440 had an efficiency of 31.71kpl which is a bit more that the American equivalent’s 29.43kpl.

Hero Mavrick 440 Hero Mavrick 440 is powered by a single-cylinder motor of 440cc that delivers a substantial amount of torque over it’s rev range. The wide range of torque in this motor makes it a breeze to use and efficient in a variety of situations. Our base model is the Harley-Davidson The X440’s motor, which comes with different engine tuning that is 2Nm stronger and a different gearing due to the smaller wheels of the Hero’s 17-inch size. The Hero is also 8kg more than Harley. However, the difference in weight between the Hero in comparison to the Harley was more than we anticipated, so we tried Mavrick Mavrick two times on the main roads, with each test returning the same payoff.

Our routine for testing fuel efficiency starts by filling the tank to the brim, and making sure the tyre pressures on the bike match the recommendations of the manufacturer. The bike is then driven through predetermined highway and city routes, while maintaining speeds that closely match the real-world conditions. The weight is maintained by balancing weights of the rider as well as ballasts to warrant the same data across bikes and riders.
